Unacceptable Items
The following items are not acceptable without prior
approval by United Waste Service and may not be disposed of at any transfer station
or landfill facility. This is subject to change based upon regulatory or operational
practices as required by Republic Services and/or the State of Georgia.
- Hazardous waste
- Flammable waste
- Reactive waste
- Corrosive waste
- Liquids
- Paints
- Used oils (motor, hydraulic, mineral, cutting, etc)
- Radioactive waste
- Medical waste
- Yard waste
- Tires (unless split along tread, or ground up)
- Batteries
- Empty tanks (gas, oil, fuel, unless rinsed and/or empty and cut in
half)
- Septic waste
- Barrels (unless rinsed and/or empty and cut in half)
- Large quantities of fluorescent light bulbs)
- Recyclable metals (non-freon related items, washers, dryers, etc)
Acceptable items requiring prior approval of United Waste/Republic
Services
- Bailed material
- Oil dry and absorbing devices - small quantity generator
- Special waste (i.e. sludge, ashes, contaminated soils, asbestos,
powders, dust)
- Shredder materials
- Abrasives
- Off spec raw materials
- Animal carcasses
- Hatchery waste
- Animal waste
- Oversized items
- Spoiled foods
- PCB materials (below 50 PPM)
